Malagasy Coton de Tulear Preservation breeders located in Arizona and Oregon
We have been active in the Malagasy Coton de Tulear breed since 2006; breeding to the established CTCA breed standard created in 1974.
In 2018, we became a Code of Ethics breeder with the Malagasy Coton de Tulear Preservation Club (MCPC) and support their genetic diversity project. The MCPC is working toward sustainable breeding practices by utilizing current DNA data technology and scientific genetic analysis. The MCPC requires all current breeding dogs to be DNA genotyped and health tested through Embark Veterinary, Inc.; a research partner with Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine.
Our goal at Columbia Gorge Cotons is to produce pups that exhibit the fun loving Coton qualities that families expect and to provide potentially breedable puppies that will benefit future generations; keeping the Malagasy Coton de Tulear genetically healthy and preserving our rare breed.
Our breeding program began with Windy & Ryder. They have a website dedicated to just them and their past litters together at www.columbiagorgecotons.com Please visit their website to learn more about Malagasy Cotons in general and to view photos of their past litters from newborns to adults.
Sweets, Bunny, Diesel and Wolf are now retired. Rikki is from Sweets x Wolf's 2016 litter, she is a rare Tall Coton and expecting her first litter Sept 26 2019.
